About Mike Sparks

With more than 35 years of football coaching experience, Mike Sparks has dedicated his life to developing athletes, building strong teams, and teaching the discipline required for success both on and off the field.

 

Throughout his coaching career, Mike has coached at multiple levels of the game, including stops at Bellevue, Napoleon, Charlotte High School, Hope College, and Olivet College. His experience also extends beyond traditional high school and college football, having coached professionally in Germany and in indoor football with the Kalamazoo Xplosion.

 

Known for his passion, leadership, and commitment to athlete development, Mike built Smart Gear Training to help athletes maximize their potential through smarter training methods, performance-focused coaching, and a mindset built around discipline and hard work.
